I know where the summer goes

I first noticed photos by Ryan McGinley a year ago at the “Americans” exhibition at the Kunsthalle in Vienna. There is something about his photos that I can relate to and that makes me think, even though (or maybe because) they’re often pretty provoking. Just can’t get those shots out of my mind.

In the summer of 2007 McGinley took to the road with 16 models. Collaborating with his troupe and looking at inspiration from 60s and 70s nudist magazines, they shot an incredible 4000 rolls of film. McGinley has culled the 150,000 pictures created down to the 50 achingly brilliant photos that make up “I Know Where the Summer Goes.

The first edition of the Austrian Vice Magazine had a photo of that series on the cover.

I’ve just for the first time in over a year updated my wordpress thingy and also I changed the settings for comments. You can now comment without having to sign up.

So, people instead of emailing me – leave a comment.

While waiting for the files to update I came across Kanye West’s new song Homecoming featuring Chris Martin. Check out the great video:

How to get exactly what you’re looking for

…at least then it comes to a pullover with prints on it.

So, this is a lil project I did last week. It’s really easy and I love the outcome. Here’s what I did:

    1) bought a pullover at H&M for 14,99 €.
    2) downloaded some free vectors and free photoshop brushes.
    3) printed my favs on T-Shirt Transfer sheets
    4) ironed them on
    5) got a cyan colored ribbon and pulled it through the hood.
    6) added 2 white press buttons
    7) put on a black and white plastic ring, making the pullover look really special I reckon.

Recently I’ve been seeing lots of CMYK-inspired things and I have to say I really like it. As long as the pure CMYK colors aren’t mixed with other colors (like on the bus where the seats are red… see pic) they really rock.

DJ to go. Made me think how it’d be cool to have another pullover like that with just that picture on it on the front pocket. And inside another pocket for your i-pod with the wires coming out thought the front and up.

The hood is really more of a surfer’s theme. I like hoods that are printed on or that have a different material on the inside.

Earrings to fit the pullover. Not sure about them, CMYK is missing the K and without that it easily looks very plain and cheep.

    Do you use Lorem Ipsum?

    April 5th, 2008

I love to use Lorem Ipsum to fill spaces when I layout stuff. Now you can also use Lorem Ipsum for advertising space, just get the banners over here.

“Neque porro quisquam est qui dolorem ipsum quia dolor sit amet, consectetur, adipisci velit…”
“There is no one who loves pain itself, who seeks after it and wants to have it, simply because it is pain…”

    Pretty stylish, I like.
