Looking for a good story?

January 19th, 2009

In London I met a guy who was born in South Africa, lived in Melbourne and had spent his last 4 years in London. When I told him I was Austrian he told me an amazin story about his grandmother, who now lives in Austria, near Krems an der Donau. His grandparents met during the war and feel in love. His grandfather always wanted to marry his grandmother but she kept saying no. So, after ten years time he went to Austria, met a new girl and asked her to marry him. When his grandmother found out about it she changed her mind and convinced his grandfather to marry her instead. They had children and lived happily in Germany. One day a letter reached them from a lawyer in Austria saying this woman his gandfather had asked to marry him and then rejected had died. It turned out she actually got killed by her relatives, but what they didn’t know was that she had changed her last will. In a letter to his grandfather she wrote that he was the only man she had ever loved and if she can’t have him he should at least get her house when she dies. So, they moved to Austria and his grandmother, now well over 80 still runs the place where there once lived a girl that fell in love so unluckily.

How it started…

Jeans Team – Das Zelt

Day #01 – January 8th, 16:50
That’s the day I left Vienna, my friends and family behind and set out to adventure my life. Final goodbyes the day before were hard and eventhough it’s a overwelming feeling to have so many good friends it makes it all the harder to leave them, my safe and totally awesome social network behind and take the road less travelled. I feel lucky I had a change to hug every single one once and twice before leaving, expect for a friend who left earlier to another country and one that didn’t make it to the party.

London, my first stop would soon show some nice stories, a terrible cold and some kick-ass musical action. More on all that soon…

Changes

January 14th, 2009

As I”ve already left last thursday for a round the world trip for eight months this blog will change a bit. I will be blogging from on the road but I haven yet figured it all out. I found very little time to write or take pictures as lots and lots of stuff has been happening :-) Anyhow, I keep messaging with my friends over facebook and emailing my parents, so the blog wil definitly run into somekinda travel blog, coz I’m getting tired of telling everything so and so oven ;) Hopefully, I’m back with a solution soon.

Things that crossed my mind

January 5th, 2009

I really don’t like it when people use serveral dots and not the right key for creating three at once. I mean:

Don’t do this…. or this.. or this…
Do this… (on a mac: press alt + . )

My thanks go out to Mekka, who taught me that. Guys, use that combination!

Also, people: if you read this blog you’re probably familiar with privacy settings on social networks. If not: pls get someone to teach you. On studivz/meinvz you can choose if people can actually see who’s profile you visit.

Of course if you wanna start a conversation with some handsome guy you don’t yet know you could visit his profile and with a bit of luck he’ll in return have a look at yours and send you a message and a few months later you might end up luckily ever after… Now, if you wanna piss someone off, that’s also a way of doing it. Otherwise I guess there is only one more reason left: you’re too dumb to be a good spy.

Btw. check out our profile on 123people.com and you might reconsider the information that’s published on you online. But don’t blame 123 for it – they’re just doing an awesome job helping people to control their personal information on the web.
