Lange Nacht der Schmuckkunst in Wien

Letzte Woche fand die “Lange Nacht der Schmuckkunst” in Wien statt. Eine Veranstaltungen, die nicht sonderlich gut beworben wurde, aber trotzdem einen Ausflug wert war. Hier einige Entdeckungen des Abends:

Stoss im Himmel

Gemeinschaftliche Arbeitsstätte mehrere Goldschmiede. Besonders fasziniert haben mich die Organ-Schmuckstücke (danke, Mama).

Gallerie Moha

Für mich ein Klassiker unter den Schmuckgeschäften in Wien und immer einen Besuch wert, sei es zum Einkaufen oder Inspiration holen. Seit Jahren liebäugle ich schon mit den Gras-, oder noch besser Pflasterringen.

Alja Neuner

Schräg gegenüber von der Loos Bar und einmal ums Eck vom Stephansdom gelegen, haben hier verschiedene Schmuckstücke darauf gewartet bestaunt zu werden…

…am meisten habe ich wohn bei den in Glasobjekten eingeschlossenen Ameisen mit Blattgold gestaunt…

The winner takes it all

So to say. Well, I wanna win. I hardly ever enter competitions where you actually have to do something, but for this I made an expection. The Deichkind & Prodigy signed Bataleon snowboard in the new urban art forms competition.

Long talk short: my snowboard got stolen last December in Obertauern and I need a new one. I’d already looked at the Bataleon Funk Kink at my favorite snowboard equipement shop in Vienna (Hangloose, they are great and no, unfortunatly I don’t get any money for saying so ;) Anyhow, the board is colored in my favorite Kindergarten colors and I reckon it will kick ass on the slopes.

So, since I recently started my “wearable tunes” jewellery series I did one with the UAF logo and took some pics. Have a look:

Goldschmiedesäge vom Opa, Feilen vom Papa, Feuer, Schaber, Nagel, Zange und eine gute alte Schallplatte (wer errät welchen Künstler ich da ge-urban-art-formed hab gewinnt einen Anhänger mit Wunschmotiv! ;)

In case I don’t win – I will probably start selling this kinda jewellery sooner or later, talk to me about it! And… yes, this was fun and a lot of work so, well let’s just wait and see.

Neulich im 1. hab ich dieses Prachtexemplar in einer Schaufensterauslage entdeckt. Das wär doch was für die Prinzessinen, nicht? Ob das mit unseren tollen Ikea Plastiksesseln auch so gut aussieht? Eindeutig ein d.i.y. Ding!

Gotta love them. I first saw them in LA last January: Tarina Tarantino‘s little mean rabbit “labbit” rings designed by artist Frank Kozi.

I think I would go for the mean purple one with the cigarette and the wings, which one you go choose (that is if there are still some people out there reading my blog…)? Hmm… just read that you can’t choose which one you get when you order :-(

Don’t just drink it – wear it

I’ve got some friends who are constantly mocking me about my obsession with nice looking wine glasses. Not like I’d collect them or anything, but I do enjoy having a glas of wine out of decent glas and not just any random glass.

This would be quite perfect for me then, wouldn’t it? :-)

I’v been making stuff for the christmas market and for myself. Check out the two prototypes scarves with vintage prints on them:

I might do something more kitschy next time. I honestly was a lil suprise how much tiny stuff (beads, buttons, â€¦) I own – but that’s a good thing I reckon.

And finally a necklace I’ve wanted to make for the longest time but never got around to actually making it. It’s made out of my old plastic Barbie stuff and I’m loving it!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I’m thrilled to invite everyone to our annual Christmas market in the Schmuckstudio Eule, Florianigasse 47-49, 1080 Vienna, on the 8th of December.

Starting at 1 pm we’ll be selling home and handmade products such as jewellery, slippers, belts, cards, ornaments and lots of other fun stuff. Plus, there will be Punsch and cookies. I’ll post more about our products in the upcoming weeks. In the meantime spread the news and save the date ;-)

First aid rings

When I was 12 and it was cool to be wearing plasters without having wounds to cover I thought it was a phase. And so it was until I saw those rings from Kai Eppi NÃ¶lke. I tried one on and they’re very comfortable and smooth. Also, check out the grass rings. Who hasn’t worn blades of grass wrapped around the finger pretending it was a real ring at some timeâ€¦
